Consortium is an educational network of social service agencies. Consortium was founded in 2022 by educator, entrepreneur, and consultant Dr. Durrell Jamerson-Barnes. "The Consortium was formed from four experiences: resource inequities, The U.S. Department of Education in New York City's' legislative action, national-to-global systemic change, and Institutions of Higher Education (IHEs)'s solidification for the need of collaboration." -Dr. Durrell Jamerson-Barnes

Consortium’s mission is to create sustainable partnerships between charter schools and IHEs that would provide systemic post-secondary opportunities for students of color graduating from charter schools to enter and graduate from 4-year institutions. In addition, we seek to create partnerships with businesses and non-profit organizations that would yield apprenticeships and internships for high school students and graduates.
TARGET AUDIENCE
The targeted audience for the partnership program is specifically focused on Black-led charter schools and collegiate administrators. While this is the aim, Consortium of Educational Enterprises serves to become a consortium for all! This network is not exclusive. We encourage partnerships and collaboration, not just amongst charter school networks, but non/for-profits, professors, educators, administrators, parents and more! Moreover, our primary aim is to cater to schools that have a significant population of African American and other minority students in high-poverty communities, as well as high-performing universities across the nation.
We are here to do the work & have fun while doing so!
The target audience can be illustrated into three primary tiers, each with its own focus:
Tier 1:
Administrators
Collaboration amongst P-12 school leaders and higher education administrators. This tier aims to foster collaboration and cooperation between leaders of primary and secondary schools and administrators from higher education institutions. The focus is on sharing knowledge, best practices, and strategies to support the educational needs of the targeted audience.
Tier 2:
Educators
Collaboration and the exchange of theory and practice amongst teachers/staff and
university students. This tier focuses on facilitating collaboration and the exchange of
ideas and experiences between teachers, school staff, and students from universities. It
includes undergraduate and graduate students, as well as university staff members. The
goal is to create a platform for sharing theoretical knowledge, practical insights, and innovative teaching approaches.
Tier 3:
Students
Programming and workshops to facilitate diverse deeper learning for high school
students. This tier is dedicated to providing programming and workshops that enable high
school students to engage in diverse and comprehensive learning experiences. The
program leverages the resources and connections available within the staff and network connections of the universities, including non-profit and for-profit organizations. The aim
is to enhance the educational opportunities and outcomes for high school students from
the targeted communities.
